The time has come again to vote for The Star Press East Central Indiana high school Athlete of the Week, brought to you by IU Health. The reigning Athlete of the Week is Wapahani softball player Sydney Tomey . Tomey went 1-for-4 with four RBIs to lead Wapahani to its first win of the season with a 21-10 result over Monroe Central on Tuesday, April 28.
Tomey drew a bases-loaded walk in the first inning for her first RBI, then blasted a walk-off three-run home run that triggered the mercy rule in the bottom of the sixth. She received 22,926 out of 39,022 votes cast (58. 75%).
