On Saturday night, Strickland pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year by reclaiming the UFC middleweight title in a fight against Khamzat Chimaev. This win made him just the second fighter to hold the belt twice in division history.
Strickland has now become champion twice, and both times he’s done it as an underdog. He’s shown again that he can’t be overlooked, no matter who he’s facing. Even with Strickland’s reputation for pulling off surprises, Arman Tsarukyan was so confident in his teammate Chimaev that he put $50,000 on it in a bet with popular streamer Adin Ross.

Despite his usual scepticism of streamers, Ross had put his faith in Strickland this time, wagering $50,000 with Tsarukyan that he’d come out on top. And once again, it paid off.
Strickland took a split decision win, and Ross pocketed an extra $50k from the Armenian. The Kick streamer shared that just after the victory over Chimaev, Strickland sent him a message: “Yo, he texted me… The first thing he thinks of is ‘Ha ha, is Arman gonna pay up his bet? ’” Ross also heard from Tsarukyan soon after.
