Will Mark Stone play on Tuesday for the Golden Knights after missing Game 4?
Mark Stone missed Game 4 for the Golden Knights with an undisclosed injury. Will the captain return for Tuesday's Game 5?
The Vegas Golden Knights played Game 4 of their second round playoff series without their captain Mark Stone. Unfortunately for the Golden Knights, they might have to play on without Stone due to an injury sustained in the series. During Game 3 of the Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks second round playoff series, Stone left late in the first period after experiencing some discomfort on the ice while backchecking Alex Killorn.
Stone didn't return to the game and was then absent from the Golden Knights' Sunday night matchup in Game 4. The Golden Knights lost Game 4 and enter Tuesday night's Game 5 back in Vegas with the series tied 2-2. It's never a good sign when a seemingly routine play turns into an injury, especially with Stone who has an extensive history of ailments over the course of his hockey career.
Even worse, the Golden Knights have kept Stone's injury status close to the chest, as the team has revealed no information about their captain's health over the last few days. As of Tuesday afternoon, there's no word yet on Stone's status for Game 5, but we'll update this space should we learn any new information ahead of the Golden Knights' pivotal game back in Vegas.
