Arsenal dealt major blow as defender ruled out until next season Arsenal defender Ben White has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a serious injury. The right-back was forced off in the first half of the Gunners’ 1-0 win over West Ham United on Sunday afternoon. White required treatment after clashing awkwardly for the ball with Crysencio Summerville and was subsequently replaced by Martin Zubimendi.

Arsenal dealt major blow as Ben White ruled out with injury Arsenal have now confirmed that the 28-year-old has suffered a “significant” medial knee ligament injury that will require months of recovery. It means White will miss the final two Premier League matches of the season as well as the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain on 30th May in Budapest. A club statement read: Our medical team are now managing Ben’s recovery and rehabilitation programme, with everyone fully focused on supporting the aim of Ben being ready for the start of our pre-season preparations.

The former Brighton player will also miss out on this summer’s FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico. He returned to the England squad in March, his first call-up to the national team since abruptly leaving Qatar during the World Cup in 2022.
