Mandatory Credit: Sam Navarro-Imagn Images Over the past several years, YouTuber Jake Paul has moved into the boxing world, where he has made hundreds of millions from high-profile independent fights. However, it sounds like there’s a very real chance that his boxing career could be over after a recent injury.
Paul has become notorious for his high-profile bouts against the likes of Mike Tyson, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz, Tommy Fury, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. , and others, amassing a significant fortune as a result of these highly publicized fights. Recently, though, Paul suffered an injury that could end his entire boxing career.
During his most recent fight with Anthony Joshua just before Christmas back in December, Paul suffered a fractured jaw. While Paul has not spoken much publicly about his injury since the fight, he recently opened up on The Ariel Helwani Show about his recovery, where he revealed that there is a real chance he might not ever be able to fight again. Paul said that he is set to undergo further testing on his jaw to see whether or not he will be able to return to the ring at all.
“Yeah, I’m getting some new scans here in a couple of days of the jaw,” Paul said on the podcast. “We’ll see what my doctors say. You know, can I even fight again?
That is definitely in the realm of possibilities of things. It does, like, feel a lot better but I definitely need to get cleared. ” Paul confirmed that it is a very real possibility that this injury could prevent him from boxing ever again.
