David Robinson has trained some of the NFL’s best wide receivers as a skills coach — including Bengals All-Pro Ja’Marr Chase and former Cowboys star Dez Bryant . Now, he believes his newest client, Eagles wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks , could be the league’s next breakout candidate. “He has so much upside,” Robinson said.
“There’s a lot of promise and flash in his game that I like. ” Robinson started training Wicks this offseason in Dallas while Wicks was still on the Packers. On April 10, the Eagles acquired Wicks from Green Bay for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick, and signed him to a one-year, $12.
5 million extension through the 2027 season. “He was really excited to have a new scenery, being in a new offense,” Robinson said. “He kind of felt that he could do more in the offense that he was in (with Green Bay).
So he’s just happy that he can revamp himself in a new system and prove that he can be that No. 2 or No. 3 receiver.
