The Los Angeles Rams didn’t have many weaknesses or flaws last season, but the ones that truly held them back were glaringly obvious. They lacked talent at cornerback and their special teams unit was arguably the worst in football. Wisely, they addressed both spots this offseason after more or less ignoring them in 2025.
At cornerback, they added Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson from the Chiefs , while also bringing in Joe Cardona as their long snapper and Grant Stuard to help on special teams. With most of their league-leading offense returning, the Rams are in excellent shape across the board entering 2026. That’s exactly why NFL.
com’s Eric Edholm ranked the Rams’ roster as the most complete in the league right now. One reason Rams fans seemed to take such exception to the drafting of quarterback Ty Simpson in Round 1 was the belief that the team boasted a Super Bowl-caliber roster and could only be a player or two away from another championship. At the very least, Rams fans’ hearts appeared to be in the right place.
Los Angeles was one possession away from reaching the Super Bowl, and no matter what you thought of the Simpson selection (or the rest of the Rams’ draft class ), this appears to be a roster capable of reaching -- and even winning -- the big game this time around. Edholm is high on the Rams’ offense, which he calls “the NFL’s best,” and believes their new-look secondary “could be one of the team’s best units. ” The biggest question now might be at inside linebacker, where their current group “doesn’t knock your socks off.
