Boston is last in the AL East with a record of 17-23 and is 7-12 at Fenway Park. It’s been a disappointing start for the Red Sox, who were aggressive this offseason in adding more talent to their roster. The Red Sox entered the season with a goal to compete for a playoff spot, but Boston has fallen behind the eight-ball.

Yet, if the Red Sox are going to turn it around, analyst Ian Browne of MLB. com believes Boston needs to play better at home. “Most of the best teams in Red Sox history have taken full advantage of the ballpark’s quirky dimensions,” Browne wrote.

“To far, this group hasn’t been able to do so nearly enough. In particular, the offense has been mostly cold at Fenway Park, not able to take advantage of the Green Monster. “The Sox hit just seven homers in their first 17 home games before belting a pair on Friday night against the Rays.
