Tennessee defeats Texas to win first SEC championship.
Tennessee rowing won the 2026 SEC championship. The Lady Vols defeated Texas in a 1V8 race to secure their first SEC championship. Tennessee also won its first conference title since 2012 when they competed in Conference USA.
"Phenomenal to see that from the team," Tennessee head coach Kim Cupini said. "Texas coming in was the number one team in the country and had that undefeated eight, so to see the varsity eight clinch like that was awesome. "I have to take my hat off to the full team to get enough points to win the SEC championship and bring that championship home, especially here at home in Tennessee, so I was super impressed and super proud of them.
" An overall point total was determined during the final race of the day. Tennessee recorded a, 79-75, victory to win a SEC championship. Tennessee earned four wins in the competition, including a victory in the final race.
