Former Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Squirrel White is moving on from football. The Chicago Bears placed White on the reserve/retired list on May 11 after he signed with them as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft. It is unclear why White has made the decision to retire, but he frequently played through injuries during his time at FSU and with the Tennessee Volunteers before that.

He played in 10 games for FSU in 2025, catching five passes for 52 yards and also helping as a punt returner. His special teams abilities were likely his path to making the Bears roster prior to his retirement. He was named to the All-ACC Academic Team.

White, who is from Birmingham, Alabama, spent the previous three seasons at Tennessee. He played in 38 games for them, catching 131 passes for 1,665 yards and six touchdowns. He averaged 12.

9 yards per punt return during his career. Follow us @FSUWire on X and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Florida State news, notes, and opinion s. This article originally appeared on FSU Wire: FSU Football: Squirrel White retires from the NFL
