Tennessee baseball pitcher earns SEC weekly award.

Tennessee sophomore Tegan Kuhns was named SEC Pitcher of the Week when the league announced its weekly awards on Monday. He received the honor for a second time this season after his performance against Texas in a, 5-1, victory on May 8 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Kuhns pitched seven innings and allowed four hits and one walk.

He totaled 15 strikeouts and recorded his fourth win during the 2026 campaign. Kuhns became the first Tennessee pitcher to record 15 strikeouts since James Adkins on June 4, 2005 against Winthrop in the NCAA Tournament Knoxville Regional. He has not allowed a run in three of his last four starts.

The right-handed pitcher has recorded at least nine strikeouts in three scoreless appearances. Kuhns joins Liam Doyle and Chase Dollander as the only Tennessee players to win SEC Pitcher of the Week multiple times in the same season. Doyle won the award three times in 2025, while Dollander received the honor twice in 2022.
