The former Maryland women’s basketball forward set a new single-season WNBA record with eight triple-doubles in 2025. While the Mercury suffered a 16-point loss on Sunday, Thomas was one rebound shy of her first triple-double of the season. She posted a game-high 19 points, 11 assists and nine boards, contributing to 46 of the team’s 79 points.

Just two games into the season, Thomas is the league’s leader in assists and is top-20 in points and rebounds. Even without a triple-double to her name this year, Thomas appears poised to break her own record. In other news No.
