H.S. BASEBALL: Tri-Valley and Blue Mountain parade way to league championship

Tri-Valley and Blue Mountain will now face off in the Schuylkill League Championship on Wednesday at 7 p. m. at Pine Grove’s Stump Stadium.

“It’d be huge for all the work and determination these seniors have put in,” Tri-Valley coach Brent Smith said. “To come away with that would be awesome but we have another tough game in front of us no matter who it is. ” Tri-Valley 14, Williams Valley 5 Tri-Valley scored eight runs in the first inning and it was an insurmountable difference for Williams Valley to overcome the rest of the game.

Peyton Schley went the distance on the mound for the Bulldogs, tossing five innings and allowing just one run on two hits while striking out four. “Throwing fastball strikes and being able to go to the off-speed stuff quicker really worked today,” Schley said. “This will give us a lot of momentum going to districts.
