Marseille sporting director Medhi Benatia subject of Al-Ittihad approach It has already been confirmed that Medhi Benatia will leave Olympique de Marseille at the end of the season. He initially departed back in February, alongside Roberto De Zerbi, who left OM by mutual consent. However, the Moroccan was convinced to return to the club in order to see out the rest of the campaign.

Soon after, however, Frank McCourt, Marseille’s owner, confirmed that Benatia would depart upon the conclusion of the Ligue 1 campaign. As per a report from L’Équipe, he will be replaced by Grégory Lorenzi, whose upcoming departure from Ligue 1 rivals Stade Brestois has already been confirmed. Benatia will be in the market for a new post come the summer, therefore, and an opportunity may have already presented itself to the former Juventus defender.
