Bignot joined the Robins in June 2024 as part of former head coach Mark Kennedy's backroom staff and following Kennedy's sacking six months later, Bignot remained at the County Ground to work with Ian Holloway. He leaves following the end of the 2025-26 campaign with the club focusing on "refreshing the football department and aligning staff roles ahead of the new season", a statement said.

Holloway said: "Marcus has been a real positive influence since the moment I walked through the door. His energy, professionalism, and commitment to the players and staff have been first class, and he leaves with nothing but our respect and gratitude. "
