Big Country-area qualifiers for 2026 UIL State Track and Field Meet

With a long season almost over, the Lone Star Stateโs top high school athletes are finally set to compete at the 2026 UIL State Track and Field Meet. After weeks of district, area and regional meets throughout the state, the best athletes in Texas high school track have punched their tickets to the state meet on Thursday-Saturday, May 14-16, at the University of Texasโ Mike Myers Stadium in Austin. In total, more than 100 of the Abilene areaโs top sprinters, hurdlers, throwers, pole vaulters and distance runners will be going for gold at the UIL state meet while representing the Big Country.
