Titans rookie Jaren Kanak switched his jersey number from 47 to 81 cementing him into a tight end role.

While most fans are solely focused on Thursday and the official release of the 2026 NFL schedule, the Tennessee Titans did some housekeeping on Monday, releasing an update on their rookies' new numbers. For the most part, the numbers stayed the same as the teamโ€™s initial press release, revealing the draft class and their selected jersey number. One member of the class, seventh-round tight end Jaren Kanak, did decide to switch it up.

Originally slated to wear No. 47, the rookie tight end will now switch to No. 81, likely an indication of where he will see the majority of his snaps.

Kanak is an intriguing developmental prospect who brings upside to Nashville. A linebacker for three seasons, he transitioned to tight end as a senior and made enough of an impact to be named third-team all-conference in the SEC. With such varied experience and an interesting skill set, Kanak looks to be viewed more as a receiving threat now with a receiver-like number, although his profile could be one that special teams coordinator John โ€œBonesโ€ Fassel would pound the table for, making that his likely path to the roster.
