Okamota continues to impress.

Blue Jays’ Kazuma Okamoto does something that only Bo Bichette has done for Toronto originally appeared on The Sporting News . Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here . It's been a somewhat interesting year for newly acquired Japanese slugger Kazuma Okamoto and the Toronto Blue Jays .

There have been times when Okamoto looks to be a very good hitter, and he's proven that over his past 10 games with four home runs, but there have been other times when he doesn't seem ready for Major League pitching. Ultimately, the Blue Jays infielder is hitting . 248 on the year with 10 home runs and 46 strikeouts.

He's been rather decent and should only get better as time goes on in this league. According to an international reporter, Okamoto has also made some history along the way, tying Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette in franchise history. “Kazuma Okamoto is the second Blue Jays player to hit 10 home runs in the first 35 games of his career, joining Bo Bichette (2019),” MLB insider Francys Romero reported on X, formerly Twitter .

If Okamoto can have the type of career that Bichette did in Toronto, there would be a lot to be happy about. Bichette isn't the best defender, but offensively speaking, he definitely can swing it with the best of them. Okamoto has yet to prove that just yet, but these home run numbers show that there's a lot in the tank and a lot to be excited about, which is the more important part.
