Projecting a rookie year ceiling and floor for each 49ers draft pick

The San Francisco 49ers need their 2026 NFL draft class to shine. Here's a look at the floor and ceiling for each pick.

The San Francisco 49ers badly need their 2026 NFL draft class to produce. Finding a star or two in the group would be ideal, but in the immediate they just need a few contributors from their eight-player class. We ran through their eight selections and settled on a realistic ceiling and floor for each pick.

We also chose floors on the assumption each player will make the roster. The obvious floor for any draft pick is one where they don't make the 53-man roster out of training camp. If the player misses out on the roster then their floor or ceiling matters less to us, so we're operating in this exercise like each player will be on the team in some capacity.

Here's how things shook out: WR De'Zhaun Stribling There's a ton of variance for Stribling who brings a ton of size and speed to a position where the 49ers are lacking players with those qualities. Whether he has the receiving chops to get snaps in his rookie season remains to be seen. If he does, he could quickly ascend to a vital role in the 49ers' passing game.

Ceiling: No. 2 wide receiver Floor: Special teams contributor DE Romello Height Height doesn't have quite the same level of variance as Stribling because his ceiling isn't as high. However, if the 49ers could pick one of the two to hit their rookie year ceiling it would probably be Height who should be a significant factor in San Francisco's pass rush rotation.
