For weeks, it was reported that there is an insurmountable gap between Bayern Munich’s offer and Laimer’s contract demands.
However, late last week, an agreement was rumored to be imminent. Whatever the case may be, Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk is reporting that Bayern Munich just will not meet Laimer’s pay request: Uli Hoeneß, the godfather of Bayern Munich, who sits on the supervisory board, said that he likes Konrad Laimer. But he made it clear that the auxiliary right-back has to believe that he’s not Diego Maradona, and so a wage demand of this amount is quite a lot!
If he were more heavily involved in Bayern’s successes in the Champions League and had personally steered the club to the final in Budapest, perhaps he’d have an argument to the contrary. But at the moment, there’s no chance Laimer will be signing a new deal for the amount he’s looking for. Bayern Munich have drawn a line in the sand over Konrad Laimer’s contract demands.
They’ve already paid a lot of money for Musiala, Davies, and Joshua Kimmich’s contract. They made him an improved offer on his current contract. It’s said that the Austrian is earning €8m-9m a year (gross).
