It was one of the busiest days of the Rhode Island high school sports season. Here are the stories and scores from all the games on Monday, May 11.

⚾Game of the Day West Warwick 1, Ponaganset 0 Freshman Michael Sabetta pitched beyond his years in this 1-0 nailbiter. Sabetta didn’t allow a hit over five innings pitched with five strikeouts and just two walks. Reliver Adrian Gonzalez worked around a walk in the sixth before leaving the tying run stranded at third.

He then recorded two strikeouts in the seventh as Mason Hunt finished off the game by getting the Chieftains to fly out to center. Logan Fernandez ’s sacrifice fly in the fourth, which scored Anthony Burt , was the decisive run in this pitching duel. West Warwick loaded the bases behind singles from Burt and Nick Andruchow and then a walk from Hunt.

The Wizards stretched their win streak to five games with the victory. Ponaganset’s Brady Lewis had an outstanding game on the mound, despite the loss. He tossed a complete game, allowing just two hits with 10 strikeouts to three walks.
