Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae survives injury scare
FC Bayern received some good news on the injury front.
MUNICH, GERMANY - MAY 06: Kim Min-Jae of Bayern Munchen reacts at full-time following the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Semi Final Second Leg match between FC Bayern Munchen and Paris Saint-Germain at Football Arena Munich on May 06, 2026 in Munich, Germany. (Photo by Chris Brunskill/Fantasista/Getty Images) | Getty Images Bayern Munich center-back Kim Min-jae was forced to leave the team’s 1-0 victory over Wolfsburg at halftime last weekend with knee issues. The South Korean had an MRI to check for damage and the results came back negative, which was good news for the Bavarians.
Kim and Leon Goretzka, who left the game at halftime because of dizziness, are both expected to be ready to play out the remainder of the season per Tz (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ): Kim Min-jae had a MRI scan scheduled after his half time substitution against Wolfsburg, but has since felt significantly better. Leon Goretzka, who was subbed off due to dizziness, is also doing well. Both players are set to be available against Köln (Bundesliga) and Stuttgart (DFB Pokal final).
For Goretzka, these will be his last two games with the club, but Kim’s future is at least a little uncertain. Some reports indicate he could be shopped, while others say that is content with his role at Bayern Munich. Whatever happens, it will be nice to see Vincent Kompany have as many options as possible for the final matches of the season.
