49ers add another undrafted rookie in swap of linebackers
The San Francisco 49ers made a roster move to swap a pair of linebackers on their 90-man roster.
The San Francisco 49ers on Monday officially announced the addition of undrafted rookie linebacker Larry Worth III to their 90-man roster. In a corresponding move they waived linebacker Milo Eifler. Worth signed a three-year contract.
Worth is another addition to the 49ers undrafted rookie class. He was originally at Jacksonville State before transferring to the University of Arkansas for two seasons to finish out his college career. In two seasons with the Razorbacks Worth played in 25 games and put up 118 tackles with two tackles for loss and 0.
5 sacks. He also had three pass breakups and a forced fumble. He has an interesting build at 6-4, 226 pounds which gives some idea that the team could envision him in a couple of different roles in the LB corps.
Adding more young LB depth makes sense for a 49ers club that has had success finding talented players at the position among the undrafted ranks. Former LBs Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and Azeez Al-Shaair were both undrafted players who carved out significant roles in San Francisco. Worth will take Eifler's place on the 90-man roster following rookie minicamp.
