Prime billing for a big NFC East matchup.

(Photo by Kathryn Riley/Getty Images) | Getty Images The 2026 NFL schedule won’t be officially revealed until the evening of Thursday, May 14 … but the leaks have already begun. Case in point: the Philadelphia Eagles are said to be playing the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving, according to a report from Ryan Fowler from NBC Sports Philadelphia .

Assuming this information is true, it’ll mark the first time the Eagles are playing the Cowboys on Thanksgiving since they last met in a 2014 Turkey Day matchup. Mark Sanchez quarterbacked the Birds in a 33 to 10 win over the Cowboys that day. The only other Eagles-Cowboys game on Thanksgiving was back in 1989, when Philly pitched a 27 to 0 shutout.

So, if history is any indication, Thanksgiving could be a fun one! Of course, those old games don’t actually dictate how things will go this year. If anything, it might be more relevant how the Eagles have struggled to find wins at JerryWorld for some time now.

They’re 1-7 in their last eight games down in Dallas, with the sole win coming over Cooper Rush under center in November 2024. Sorry to remind you but the Eagles were in strong position to get a road win over the Cowboys last season, jumping out to a 21-point lead before Dallas scored 24 unanswered points. The feeling here is that the Cowboys are going to be the top threat in the division to the Eagles threepeating as NFC East champions this season.
