It appears the promotion is in agreement with the Serra-Longo striking coach, announcing a “Modern Wing” induction for the 41-year-old “All American” during the UFC 328 broadcast last weekend in New Jersey.

Weidman retired from UFC after getting stopped by Erky Anders at UFC 310 in late 2024 . The 2026 UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on July 9 in Las Vegas . “Chris Weidman is one of the greatest middleweights in UFC history,” said UFC President & CEO Dana White.

“Chris consistently competed against the best athletes in the world during his career, and his victories over Anderson Silva changed the landscape of the middleweight division forever. It will be an honor to induct him into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer. ” I guess there’s no hard feelings after that Giffle debacle .

Weidman (16-8) made his mark in the 185-pound weight class, capturing the middleweight title from Anderson Silva back in summer 2013 — when Silva was considered the best fighter in all of MMA . Weidman would defend the title three times starting with a rematch against Silva ( UFC 168 ), followed by consecutive victories over Lyoto Machida ( UFC 175 ), and Vitor Belfort ( UFC 187 ). It was all downhill after that , with a 3-8 record and seven losses by way of knockout/technical knockout.
