Saint Mary's lands first McDonald's All-American in program history
The Gaels received a historic commitment from a premier 2026 recruiting prospect on Monday.
Saint Mary's has made school history off the court in hopes it will help them make history on it this coming season. The Gaels received commitment from McDonald's All-American Darius Bivins. Bivins is slated to be the first McDonald's All-American to ever play at Saint Mary's.
Bivins was impressed by the atmosphere during his visit and communication with the school. "Opportunity to play a major role right away and the staff was transparent. The team has a brotherhood vibe," Bivins told ESPN.
"Head coach Mickey McConnell is a super chill guy off the court. His plan is for me to play both on and off the ball. He played the position at Saint Mary's and he was a really good player.
