David Njoku, Chargers' new tight end, gets Twitter tribute from Browns
Tight end David Njoku, who has played all nine of his NFL seasons for the Cleveland Browns, agreed to a one-year deal with the Chargers.
Free-agent tight end David Njoku, who has played all nine of his NFL seasons for the Cleveland Browns , agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers worth up to $8 million. The Browns thanked Njoku in a tweet May 11 . Njoku did not play in the Browns' 20-18 Week 18 win against the Bengals in 2025, but he did leave Cincinnati with a jersey signed by Bengals backup quarterback Joe Flacco , Njoku's former Cleveland teammate.
Njoku was a first-round pick of the Browns in the 2017 NFL Draft out of University of Miami. He was a Pro Bowler in 2023. Njoku finished the 2025 season with 33 receptions for 293 receiving yards with four touchdowns in 12 games.
