The New England Patriots have filled one of their open spots on the 90-man roster following the conclusion of rookie minicamp. The Boston Herald's Doug Kyed reports that the Patriots are signing undrafted free agent safety Peter Manuma after his successful tryout at rookie minicamp. Manuma spent his college career at Hawaii, where he was a four-year starter, having recorded 280 total tackles and five interceptions.
He also ran a 4. 49-second 40-yard dash during his pro day. The 6-foot, 200-pound safety worked out with the Seattle Seahawks at their rookie minicamp the week before.
He adds depth in the safety room, which was a need for the team, joining a room with Craig Woodson, Kevin Byard, Dell Pettus, Mike Brown, John Saunders Jr. , and Brenden Schooler. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook .
