The New England Patriots selected two offensive tackles in the 2026 NFL Draft for the second straight year , taking Utah's Caleb Lomu with the 28th overall pick and Dametrious Crownover via trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round.
NFL Draft analyst and senior writer Nick Baumgardner of The Athletic praised the selection of Crownover in an article published Monday morning, including the Texas A&M product on his list of the event's "best value picks. " "Another gigantic tackle, Crownover (6-7, 321, with nearly 36-inch arms) keeps his massive frame under control off the edge and brings real potential as a run blocker. He’s another player who could perform immediately as a swing tackle before blossoming into something more," Baumgardner wrote of Crownover.
The 196th overall pick played in 47 games with the Aggies across four seasons and could be a solid depth piece for New England in 2026. More NFL: Player Patriots Waived Last Season Signs With Falcons After Tryout
