German referee Daniel Siebert will officiate the Champions League final between defending champions Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, European ruling body UEFA said on Monday. Siebert refereed nine matches in this season's tournament, including the quarter-finals first leg between Sporting and Arsenal and the semi-finals second leg between Arsenal and Atlético Madrid. To date, only four German referees have officiated a Champions League final: Hellmut Krug (1998), Markus Merk (2003), Herbert Fandel (2007), and most recently Felix Brych (2017).
On the sidelines, Siebert will be assisted by compatriots Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn.
