Trey Kaufman-Renn's impressive offseason continues with NBA Draft Combine invite

The Boilermaker center was one of five players at the G League Combine to earn a call-up to the NBA's pre-draft showcase in Chicago.

Trey Kaufman-Renn's performance at the G League Combine last weekend added a second Purdue men's basketball prospect to the NBA's pre-draft showcase this week. Kaufman-Renn was called up to the NBA Draft Combine this week in Chicago. He joins teammate Braden Smith for this week's workouts and scrimmages with other top prospects at Wintrust Arena.

Five players were called up from the G League combine to this week's NBA event. Others were George Washington center Rafael Castro, USC forward/center Jacob Cofie, St. John's forward Bryce Hopkins and Tennessee State guard/forward Aaron Nkrumah.

Kaufman-Renn strung together a series of impressive performances since the end of the Boilermakers' season. That started at the Portsmouth Invitational, a showcase of 64 draft-eligible players where he was named to the all-tournament team. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound center averaged 14.

2 points and 8. 3 rebounds while shooting 57. 8% from the field as a fifth-year senior.
