Boston acquired the Toronto Maple Leafs’ first-round pick in 2025 in the Brandon Carlo deal, but the pick was top-five protected. At the time of the draft lottery, there was a 52% chance the pick would fall to sixth or seventh, but the Maple Leafs ended up winning the lottery, so Boston won’t get the first-round pick. Instead, the Bruins have just the 23rd overall pick, but it’s a chance to still add an impact prospect to the system.

With the 23rd overall pick, NHL analyst Cory Pronman of The Athletic mocked the Bruins to select 6-foot-3 Slovak defenseman Adam Glojer. “Goljer is trending up with teams after a strong worlds and the Bruins haven’t picked a defenseman in the first round in a decade,” Pronman wrote in an article that was published on Monday. “Goljer skates well, breaks up plays effectively, and makes a good first pass, even if he doesn’t project as a major offensive driver.

He projects to become a dependable top-four presence on the Bruins’ blue line. ” Goljer has spent parts of the last three seasons with Trencin Dukla in the Slovak league but was a full-time player last season. He recorded four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 43 games, along with 40 penalty minutes.
