Kidderminster boss Murray 'hurt' by sacking taunts

Kidderminster Harriers boss Adam Murray said he had to put up with "vicious" online abuse and terrace taunts during a "tough" promotion-winning campaign. The Worcestershire side returned to the National League after beating South Shields 2-0 in the National League North play-off final on Saturday. The former Derby and Mansfield Town midfielder joined Harriers 12 months ago and guided them to a third-place finish, eight points behind runners-up South Shields.

It was the second promotion of his career after guiding AFC Fylde into the National League as champions in 2022-23. "This is deeper and it's an emotional one for me because of the journey of the season," he told BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester. "It still rings in my ears - Bedford at home - when [I heard] I'm getting 'sacked in the morning' and that hurt me.

" He said his faith in God helped him through it, adding: "I took some really vicious personal messages on social media. It was tough at times but I've always believed in myself.
