Red Wings fan 15 Syracuse batters in road win
Yohandy Morales led the Rochester Red Wings to an 8-5 victory over the Syracuse Mets, improving their record to 20-19.
The Rochester Red Wings defeated the Syracuse Mets 8-5 on Sunday afternoon at NBT Bank Stadium. Yohandy Morales led the Red Wings' offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Andrรฉs Chaparro added an RBI, and Andrew Pinckney drove in two runs.
Christian Franklin started the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning. Morales added a solo shot in the fourth to give Rochester a 2-1 lead. Rochester scored three times in the sixth.
Harry Ford scored on Morales' RBI double, then Morales and Robert Hassell III scored on Pinckney's two-run single. The Red Wings added a run in the seventh when Chaparro drew a bases-loaded walk to score Franklin. Rochester tacked on two more in the ninth.
Hassell III contributed an RBI single, and Phillip Glasser went 3-for-5 with an RBI. Franklin walked twice and scored twice. Hassell III stole a base, while Glasser swiped two and Franklin added one.
