Photo by Mike Roach/Zuffa LLC Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have finally agreed to fight after years of failed negotiations and speculation surrounding the biggest all-British heavyweight clash of the modern era. The fight is expected to take place later this year, with Netflix strongly linked to broadcasting the event globally. Dana White recently claimed that he would handle promotion duties for the blockbuster showdown.

White made the comments during a Nina Drama’s livestream appearance before UFC 328, continuing his growing involvement in boxing after promoting major crossover events and launching Zuffa Boxing alongside Saudi backers earlier this year. However, another well-known figure in the market has suggested his statement is not true. Frank Warren denied Dana White will promote Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Photo by Richard Pelham/Getty Images for Netflix Frank Warren quickly rejected White’s claims when asked about the UFC president’s comments regarding the Fury versus Joshua fight.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Warren said: “He’s not [going to promote Fury vs Joshua]. Because the contract with Tyson says that Zuffa will not be able to promote that fight. I mean, it’s just b———.

” White’s involvement would have represented a major step for Zuffa Boxing because Fury against Joshua is viewed as one of the biggest possible events in combat sports. It also would have added another chapter to his rivalry with Eddie Hearn, who has promoted Joshua throughout his professional boxing career. Zuffa Boxing remains divisive within the boxing world White’s Zuffa Boxing project still divides opinion across boxing because of his plans to change several traditional aspects of the sport.

The 56-year-old businessman has repeatedly criticised boxing’s structure, sanctioning bodies and promotional system since entering the industry. Despite the criticism, Zuffa Boxing appears to be slowly gaining traction with several notable fighters linked to the company. Shakur Stevenson has reportedly entered negotiations with the promotion.
