🏆 World Cup has its first squad announcement, see There you go, we already have the first 26 players confirmed for the 2026 World Cup. The Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (NFSBiH) became the first among the 48 participating national teams to announce, this Monday (11), the official squad list for the World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the USA. Coach Sergej Barbarez made official the 26 names who will stamp their passports to North America during a press conference held in the capital, Sarajevo.
"We chose the right people to represent the Bosnian people and the spirit of our nation," the coach said during the announcement. The Bosnian national team secured its place heroically at the end of March 2026 after eliminating Italy on penalties (4–1, following a 1–1 draw) in the UEFA qualifiers playoff. With that victory, the team was placed in World Cup Group B.
