Vote for Ames Tribune male Athlete of the Week for May 3-9

The week of May 3-9 was another eventful one for male high school athletes from the Ames area. It was a busy week of conference track and field meets featuring Ames-area schools. Ames competed at the Iowa Alliance Conference meet, Ballard and Gilbert at the Raccoon River Conference meet, Collins-Maxwell and Colo-NESCO at the Iowa Star Conference meet and Nevada and Roland-Story at the Heart of Iowa Conference meet.

1 singles competition. He defeated Webster City's Nathan Wardell and Iowa Falls-Alden's Carter Zollar in straight sets, scoring a pair of 6-0 shutouts in each match. Jack Angell, Colo-NESCO Angell brought home the 110-meter high hurdles and 400 hurdles titles for the Colo-NESCO boys track and field team at the Iowa Alliance Conference track and field meet on May 7 in Tama.
