Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ray Fittipaldo predicted Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Troy Fautanu could make an interesting change in 2026.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a few questions to answer regarding the future of their starting offensive line, particularly at left tackle. But one well-respected insider believes the spot could be filled by offensive tackle Troy Fautanu , who’s played on the right side of the offensive line during his first two years in the NFL. According to Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Fautanu’s versatility to play left tackle will likely come into play this offseason — potentially setting the stage for a full-time switch this upcoming season.

“We know Troy could flip over to the left," Fittipaldo said via the North Shore Drive podcast. "That's probably going to happen this spring. " Fittipaldo believes Troy Fautanu will flip to the left side of the offensive line: “We know Troy could flip over to the left.

If the Steelers like what they see out of Fautanu on the left side this offseason, moving him fully to left tackle could allow rookie first-rounder Max Iheanachor to find more success on the right side of the offensive line, where he primarily played at Arizona State.
