Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid discusses his relationship with the front office after the Round 2 loss to the New York Knicks.
PHILADELPHIA -- The 2025-26 season is in the books for the Philadelphia 76ers . It was a bounce back season following a miserable 24-58 season in 2024-25 as Philadelphia rallied to finish 45-37 in the regular season, and defeat the Boston Celtics in Round 1 before being swept by the New York Knicks with a 144-114 loss in Game 4 on Sunday. Now is the time to look ahead to the offseason.
One has to wonder what the relationship with the front office is like for Joel Embiid. The big fella pleaded at the trade deadline to not just "duck the tax" and was hoping the team would add. He also was not happy after being ruled out of an April 1 win over the Washington Wizards in which he claimed he found out he was ruled out on Twitter and called out President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey by name.
As Embiid and the Sixers now head into the offseason, he addressed his relationship with the front office and the team going forward. "I love Philly," said Embiid. "I've been here my whole career, and we haven't won, but it's hard, you know?
I've been doing this for a long time. It's hard to win in this league, and everything has to happen. Everybody has to be on the same page.
