Homers, gems and steals: Vote for IndyStar softball players of the week (May 4-9)

Congratulations to Tippecanoe Valley's Kaitlyn Threlkel on being voted Player of the Week for April 27-May 2 ! The junior highlighted her week with a 12th-inning walk-off homer vs. John Glenn on Tuesday.

She finished the game with three hits, and finished the week with six hits, two homers and five RBIs. Here were the top performers from the past week. Harper Adams, Greensburg Adams constructed three excellent pitching outings, totaling 46 strikeouts and allowing only one earned run on 11 hits.

She had 16 Ks in nine innings pitched vs. Batesville — and drove in the game-winning RBI as part of a 3-for-5, 3-RBI effort — then spun a two-hit shutout of Franklin County with 17 Ks. Adams finished the week 8-for-12 at the dish with a homer, two doubles and four RBI.
