Spectacular Daniel Munoz shines as Crystal Palace fight back to seal a point vs Everton Crystal Palace fought back twice at Selhurst Park to earn themselves a draw against Everton. The Eagles found themselves behind after only six minutes, but Ismaila Sarr delivered a response before the half-time break. Everton scored again in the second 45 but Crystal Palace ace Jean-Philippe Mateta equalised on 77 to earn his side a crucial point.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner was impressed with the fighting spirit his side showed. He will particularly be in awe of Daniel Munoz’s performance at wing-back. The Colombian international delivered one of the most complete performances you’ll ever see from a wing-back in the Premier League.

On the attacking front, Munoz was key for Palace, creating three big chances and playing four key passes. Unfortunately, his three big chances went to waste. Defensively, the 29-year-old was also imperious, winning 4/6 of his tackles and seven out of eight of his ground duels.

While Sarr and Mateta will get most of the plaudits for the comeback, Munoz was sensational for the Eagles. Yet as impressive as Munoz has been this season, Crystal Palace cannot afford to ignore the bigger picture heading into the summer transfer window. Finding a reliable deputy and, eventually, a long-term successor to the Colombian has to become one of the club’s top priorities.
