Eric DeCosta reveals a unique NFL draft moment for new Ravens coaches

Yahoo Sports

Many new Ravens coaches, from college, experienced the NFL Draft room for the first time, learning the team's process.

This year’s draft wasn’t just a learning experience for players; it was one for Baltimore’s coaching staff, too. During an appearance on 105. 7 The Fan alongside Bruce Cunningham and former Raven and Super Bowl Champion Femi Ayanbadejo, Eric DeCosta revealed that several members of the Ravens ’ new coaching staff had never experienced an NFL Draft room before.

“A lot of these guys came from college, and they’ve never been in the draft room during the draft. In the fifth round this year, we brought the coaches in so they could experience it right up close and personal. ” DeCosta explained earlier in the interview that Baltimore spent much of the offseason teaching the new coaches how the organization’s scouting and draft process works.

The comments offered an interesting behind-the-scenes look at how much of a transition has taken place inside the building this offseason. This article originally appeared on Ravens Wire: Ravens gave new coaches a firsthand NFL Draft experience
