USC baseball sweeps Nevada, clinches program’s best home record ever
The Trojans wrapped up their regular season home slate in style over the weekend, hitting a notable milestone in the process
This past week marked the final four home games of the regular season for USC baseball. After a Tuesday night victory over Cal State Fullerton , the Trojans welcomed Nevada to Dedeaux Field for their final home series of the year. Once again, Andy Stankiewicz’s team remained dominant at Dedeaux.
The Trojans recorded yet another home sweep, winning 8-0 on Thursday, 11-3 on Friday, and 12-4 on Saturday. With the victories, the Trojans finished their regular season home slate with a record of 32-1. That sets a record for the best home record in a season in program history.
Now, the Trojans will look to continue their success on the road—where they have struggled significantly this season. USC will wrap up the regular season with a three-game series at Oregon this week, before traveling to Omaha for the Big Ten Tournament. If the Trojans can finish the year strong, they will have a shot to earn one of the top 16 national seeds and host NCAA Tournament games at Dedeaux Field.
Given how much better USC has played at home than on the road this season, that would rather significant. This article originally appeared on Trojans Wire: USC baseball sweeps Nevada, clinches program’s best home record ever
