De Zerbi on Kulusevski’s possible return and Maddison’s fitness
De Zerbi on Kulusevski’s possible return and Maddison’s fitness Roberto De Zerbi says he is still hopeful that Dejan Kulusevski could be involved for Spurs before the end of the season. The Swede has not featured for Spurs since going off with a patella injury against Crystal Palace in May 2025, but there is still hope that he could be back for Spurs before the end of the season. De Zerbi was asked whether Kulusesvski could be ready to feature for Sweden at the World Cup in north America.
“I don’t know. ” he said. “Well, the situation for me is difficult to understand how he can play in the World Cup if he didn’t play any game this season.
“But I texted him after Birmingham and he told me the next week he thinks he’ll come back. “I hope he can be available to stay with us in the last games because he’s an amazing player for me. I hope he can play but I don’t know his injuries and I can’t say nothing more.
” Much like Kulusevski, James Maddison has also not featured for Spurs this season after suffering an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury against Arsenal in pre-season. The Englishman has been on the bench in all but one of the matches since De Zerbi took over, but has not been brought on yet. The Italian was asked whether he is ready to take to the pitch going into Spurs’ clash against Leeds on Monday night.
“Not yet,” he answered. “But we have not spoken about his condition. ” “Just looking on the pitch I understand his experience, my experience, the experience of the medical staff, the physical staff.
