Flick sadly lost his father ahead of the match but took charge of his side and oversaw a fine win thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres.

Speaking on television after the final whistle, a clearly emotional Flick admitted it was a memorable moment. “I’ll never forget this moment. My team is fantastic and I’m delighted.

I’m very proud of my players. It’s thrilling to be with the fans, in a Clásico, beating Real Madrid,” he told the media. “We played very well, we defended very well, and we scored two great goals.

” The win puts Barcelona 14 points ahead of Los Blancos with just three games left to play and hands Flick his fifth title since taking charge of the club.
