Yahoo Sports

Steve Kerr decided to return to the Warriors for two more seasons. Had he departed, there was a chance that he'd sign a contract at ESPN.

Amid speculation of whether or not Steve Kerr would return to the sidelines next season for his 13th season as Golden State's head coach, he was offered a contract by ESPN to join the network as an analyst. Tim Kawakami of the San Francisco Standard revealed Saturday that the offer could have been up to $7 million per season. However, Kerr opted to return to coaching and was paid handsomely to do so.

Kerr's two-year deal will net $17. 5 million per year, making him the NBA's highest-paid coach once again. Through 12 seasons, the five-time champion as a player has amassed over 600 career wins and four titles as a coach.
