4 veteran players trying out at Broncos rookie minicamp
The Broncos are taking a look at several veteran tryout players.
In addition to their seven drafted rookies , 13 undrafted free agent signings and 33 rookie tryout players , the Denver Broncos also invited four veteran players to rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. The most notable name on the list is quarterback Nathan Peterman , a 32-year-old journeyman backup who has spent time with five NFL teams. Peterman has started five games in his career, completing 53.
1% of his passes for 712 yards with four touchdowns against 13 interceptions. Also participating is wide receiver Michael Woods (6-1, 204 pounds), who worked out for the Broncos last September. The 26-year-old wide receiver entered the league as a sixth-round pick out of Oklahoma with the Cleveland Browns in 2022.
Woods has 12 receptions for 110 yards on his career résumé, including three catches for 43 yards against Denver in 2024. On defense, the Broncos are hosting defensive end Isaiah Thomas (6-5, 266 pounds) and safety Brandon Hill (5-11, 195 pounds). Thomas (27) is a former seventh-round pick out of Oklahoma (2022) who has totaled 12 tackles, two forced fumbles and one sack in 12 career games.
Hill (25) was picked by the Houston Texans in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL draft out of Pitt. He has appeared in two regular season games in his career.
