Selection Sunday is here, and it's nearly time to find out the seeding for the 2026 NCAA Softball Tournament. The Florida State Seminoles secured their 20th ACC Tournament Championship on Saturday with a 2-1 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies . It is their ninth title in the past 12 years and the 10th under head coach Lonni Alameda.
They will now look to follow it up with another trip to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. They were already going to the NCAA Tournament, but the win secured an automatic bid for the Seminoles and helped their resume. The only question now is what seed they will be awarded after going 49-8 and winning both the ACC regular season and tournament championship.
They will find out on Sunday during the selection show, which will air on ESPN2 and is set to start at 7 p. m. ET.
While the official announcement has not been made, Softball America has released its final projections for the tournament, and they have the Seminoles as the No. 8 overall seed, putting them in line to host a Regional and Super Regional, if they can win the Tallahassee Regional.
