The various different football insiders are jostling into place to try and be the first to break news about Chelsea’s managerial situation, with Nicolo Schira this week pushing a lot of stories about Xabi Alonso being in the frame, but the big daddy of them all, Fabrizio Romano, is who we’ve all been waiting to hear from.
Speaking on his Youtube channel this morning, he’s just dropped this big update on how close the former Real Madrid boss is to actually taking over at Chelsea. Romano plays down Alonso to Chelsea rumours “At the moment, guys, I can guarantee there is still nothing advanced or concrete on this one,” Romano said. “Xabi Alonso is a big name, available on the market and is ready to restart another chapter if he can find the right project.
But at the moment, still nothing advanced with any club. ” We still have our doubts Alonso would ever be interested in the setup at Chelsea, and this has confirmed our suspicions that other insiders are getting ahead of themselves. In other news… Levi Colwill was asked about how it felt to come back having missed almost a full season, and he had some very heartfelt thanks for some of those people who had helped him.
