Osula, who barely featured for Newcastle last season or at the start of this year, has become the latest Eddie Howe favorite of late, and everything points toward the Magpies retaining him beyond the summer transfer window despite growing interest from across Europe. The 22-year-old forward has attracted attention following his recent run of form, lucky or not, with clubs in the Premier League and abroad monitoring his situation. According to The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope , multiple teams — including Aston Villa (who had already agreed to a deal last summer), Everton, Crystal Palace, Bayer Leverkusen, and even Bayern Munich (wait, what?
) — have checked on Osula’s availability. On top of that Aston Villa collapsed deal, a move to Bundesliga’s Eintracht Frankfurt was also close last summer in a transfer reportedly worth around £30 million, but NUFC shut it down at the last second. Newcastle’s internal view of the matter heading into the summer, however, has shifted as Osula’s role in the squad has grown under Howe, with the gaffer set to stay for the start of the 2026-27 season.
“As one source said,” Hope wrote, “‘We’d be looking to replace Will Osula with Will Osula! ’ Staff have also been impressed by his recent impact and believe there is more improvement to come. According to Hope, Newcastle’s view reflects the club’s concern that selling the striker, even for a fee reportedly north of £40 million, would create a gap difficult to fill in the current market, with the recent track record of the Magpies’ moves not to be trusted, to say the least.
